Bed Bugs Treatment Explained

Finding the best bed bugs treatment to get rid of bed bugs is not easy. First of all, there are probably hundreds of products available today in the market that claim they can get rid of bed bugs.

However, when it comes to results, getting an infestation under control can be a lot more time consuming and difficult than you might have first thought. Thankfully, with a little knowledge on the subject you should be able to easily select the best possible treatment for your home without wasting too much money.

Types of bed bugs treatment

There are a few options available in order to get rid of bugs and to make your home healthier. One of the preferred methods is to call professional exterminators who are very effective but they can also be very costly to get rid of bugs. Any professional cleaning service is expensive and you will be required to vacate your property while the house is being treated. The chemicals that are used by these professionals are known to be quite dangerous and could affect the health of the home owner.

If you are determined to get rid of the problem on your own then you can use a steam cleaner. This is a cost effective way to get rid of bed bugs but the only drawback is that it will take some effort and time in order to treat the house on your own.

Bed bugs spray is another method of bed bugs treatment in which you can get rid of the infestation on your own at home. There are several non toxic varieties of bed bugs spray available at home that you can use for this purpose. You can use any of the bed bugs spray available online and use them as per the instructions on the pack to get rid of the bed bugs.

A simple way to treat bed bugs is to use mattress covers and other encasements for the pillows as well as the box spring. Be aware that this method is effective only when the room has been treated for bed bugs earlier. This is a method that is more effective for prevention of bed bugs rather than for their removal.

If you plan to use the encasements, you can use them in two ways. You can put the encasements on for trapping live bugs inside so they will die, although you should know that bed bugs can survive for as long as a year without food. As an alternative, you can get your room treated for bed bugs before you actually use an encasement.

There seems to be increased awareness about bed bugs these days. Yesterday in the Times there was a whole page devoted to the subject. It talked about how synthetic pillows are more susceptible to bed bugs thean pillows made of down. It also said that after a couple of years, the third of the weight of a pillow is made up of mites, dead skin etc. Yuck.

Yikes what a terrifying newspaper image. It makes it sound like the bed bugs are extra terrestrials or something out of space.
I hope we can save the world from bed bugs and there is some bed bugs treatment out there to save us from thisabed bugs pandemic that the scaremongerers are trying to make us believe is imminent and will end the world!!1

We have had an outbreak of bedbugs in recent days. Is it better to call in a pest specialist straight away or are we able to deal with it ourseolves by buying the relevant product?

There seems to be alot more public acknowledgment of the problem caused by bed bugs nowadays. I wasa watching a channel 4 programme called dispatches recently and they were showing the squalid living conditions of various lodging houses and it showed bed bugs crawling here there and everywhere as well a cockroaches!! Its enough to make you vomit. Awful. Bed bugs certainly is an under rated problem which hopefully now will be addressed.

We have a bed bug infestation on the top floor of the house. Do you think I should call a professional in straight away or should I deal with it myself? If so which products should I use?
